Pitt-Virginia Tech game day schedule announced

Charles LeClaire-USA TODAY Sports

Pitt has a bye week this weekend, but a bit of football-related news dropped for the team's next game. The Panthers will face the Hokies on Saturday, October 3rd and that game has been announced with a noon kickoff. The game will also be televised locally on Root Sports.

Good to see that the game will not only be on local television again, but also that it's an early game. Playing any game at Virginia Tech is always a difficult challenge because of the crowd. With a noon start, however, it shouldn't be quite as rowdy as the road night games are. As Pitt saw this weekend at Iowa, you get really hostile environments for night games on the road.

The game will be a tough one for the Panthers as it is so any advantage, even a slight one, is a welcome sight for the team in its ACC opener.
