Pitt Football Recruiting: Deslin Alexandre flips from NC State to Panthers

Charles LeClaire-USA TODAY Sports

Busy week, huh? In the past five days, we've seen Pitt lose an offensive coordinator, possibly lose an athletics director, and bring a couple of new recruits on board.

The Panthers added a third recruit in defensive end Deslin Alexandre out of Florida. That's not only three commits this week, it's three in the past 48 hours.

Alexandre committed to Pitt on Friday night after flipping from NC State. He is a solid three-star recruit and reportedly has other offers from the Wolfpack, Cincinnati, Syracuse, Rutgers, and several other programs. In addition to those schools, he was also drawing quite a bit of interest elsewhere.

He becomes the team's first defensive end recruit of the 2017 class and helps to fill a hole there.

One good thing is that Alexandre plans on enrolling in the spring, meaning he'll get some extra practice time in and be a little more ready by the time fall training camp rolls around.

Alexandre isn't a guaranteed star, of course, but looks like a pretty solid get for the program - particularly this late in the recruiting game for the 2017 Class.
