Against the Odds: Pitt a slight underdog to Duke

Pitt heads into this weekend with a big game against Duke. As I wrote in the preview, if they want to keep their hopes alive for a bowl game, this one’s a pretty important contest.

But as has been pretty routine this year, the Panthers will likely enter the game as the underdog. The Panthers opened as a four-point underdog and while lines have come down a little from that to 2 12 on most sites, barring a drastic change, they will not come into this one favored.

I don’t have a major problem with the line but given that Pitt is getting the game at home, I think it’s much more like a Pick ‘Em. Duke is 5-2 while the Panthers are only 3-4 but Pitt has also faced a much more difficult schedule to date.

What do you think about the line for this weekend’s game? Would you favor the Panthers? Vote in the poll below.
