The Wooden Award Midseason list was posted a few days ago and the Big East had five representatives...including Pitt's Brad Wanamaker.
Wanamaker was the only Pitt representative on the list of 30 players. Other Big East players included Providence's Marshon Brooks, UConn's Kemba Walker, Syracuse's Rick Jackson, and Georgetown's Austin Freeman.
Brad's having a pretty good season and his being named to the list means that whoever puts these things together looks at more than just scoring. Wanamaker isn't a realistic candidate to win or even come close to winning. I'm guessing they felt obligated to list someone from Pitt since they're a top five team.
Still, it's not as if Wanamaker hasn't played great for Pitt. He's averaging 13 points (on 50% shooting from the field, by the way), five rebounds, five assists, and nearly two steals per game.
