Pitt Football: Will Panthers' Schedule Equal Ten Wins?

So now that Pitt's football schedule is out, time to analyze it a bit. Eight home games gives the team an advantage, but is it enough to back to ten wins next year?

Sure, there are personnel losses to deal with. Sure, the problem at quarterback is unsolved. But with a favorable schedule, Pitt could conceivably have a pretty decent season.

I took a look at this in the weekly feature over at SB Nation Pittsburgh - stop over and take a look.

Question of the season?

Will Tino be the QB? If so, then I doubt it. But it’s not like we have any proven QB as a backup. I just don’t see where we could get 9 wins in the regular season. Heck we could easily go through nonconference with 3 losses and there’s no way we’re going through the Big East unbeaten.

Possible, but maybe not probable

I could see getting six of eight at home because Pitt has done pretty well at Heinz Field. Can also see two of four on the road (Louisville and Rutgers). If they steal one of the remaining four, then it’s possible.

Could be an uphill battle, though, and QB is by far the biggest question mark.

I agree

I’m thinking wins come from Buffalo, Maine, Cincinnati, Connecticut, USF, and Syracuse. Utah is a possibility also as they have to come all the way out here during their PAC-12 season. I’m hoping for a Weis-like flop for ND as their expectations are so high, but Kelly is a proven winner.

Road wins, I’m thinking only Rutgers, maybe Iowa as they lost alot. Louisville’s gonna be good next year and WVU is looking doubtful at this point. Although we could pull another ’07 which would be unreal

Yes, UL fan here

I like reading this blog and a lot of the Big East blogs, for that matter. But Heinz seemed to be quite an advantage for you guys last year.
