I didn't get around to a preview for this game, but that doesn't mean it's not important. Pitt is off to another bad start in the Big East and while it's still early in the conference schedule, time is running out if the Panthers want to reach .500 in conference.
There are plenty of easier games as I detailed in the comments section of another post, but with games still against Syracuse, Louisville, Cincinnati, Notre Dame, UConn, and Marquette, there are plenty of tough ones left, too. Pitt really needs to clean up against some of the weaker teams and even though this one's on the road, it's really a game Pitt needs at this point. Another loss will (and should) bring a new level of panic.
Nova's been decent, but not much more. They've got two Big East wins, but they've come against two of the worst teams in the league - South Florida and St. John's. They've failed most of their tests this year (sound familiar?) and their best win is probably over St. Joe's.
The bottom line for Pitt is that they need to win these types of games if there are any hopes of the NCAAs. The game tips off at 7:00 p.m. and is on ESPNU. Stop by and comment live during the game.
