Highlights - Junior Highlights

Kevin Givens committed back in last February and is one of just six defensive recruits for the 2015 recruiting class. He is listed as a three-star linebacker by all the major recruiting services, but some are thinking his size and skill set translates to being a defensive end at the college level.

Kevin Givens helped lead a big turnaround at Altoona High School in recent years, as they have been a bottom-feeder in the WPIAL since they joined a few years ago. Altoona reached the WPIAL playoffs before bowing out against top-seeded Pine Richland in the second round.  He played some running back, and he moved very well for how big of a player he is.

Pitt is in great need of impact players on defense, and Givens will have an opportunity to come in and compete.  I do not think he will come in and start, and may have to take a redshirt. The defensive line has been pushed around a lot this season, and he could be a productive player down the line.
