Pitt's volleyball team has been having a pretty special season. Now, they've finally got a statement win to go along with it.

The Panthers topped No. 25 Duke on Friday night, earning a 3-2 victory in five sets. It was Pitt's first Top 25 win in nearly a decade - you have to go back to 2005 when they last beat a ranked team. Pitt was also missing Jessica Wynn, the team's leader in kills on the season, and when you consider it was a road match, it was a special win for the program.

Pitt is 20-4 and 8-3 in the ACC, and just missed out on earlier opportunities to take down ranked teams this season. The team hasn't only had opportunities but has flat out been in the driver's seat. The Panthers lost to No. 12 North Carolina in October after holding a 2-1 set lead. Then, in the Spike and Slam event over Homecoming weekend, dropped their match to No. 4 Florida State after holding a significant 2-0 set lead in the best of five match.

Great to see them finally get the big win their resume needed. That should start to earn the unranked Panthers a bit more respect.
