(Don't) Bet the Farm: Pitt vs. Akron predictions

Charles LeClaire-USA TODAY Sports

Most of us took a hit last week by predicting Pitt to defeat Iowa on Saturday. Jim, however, was the smart one in taking the Hawkeyes and remains the lone undefeated here.

So how do we see things for Saturday? Will the Panthers' losing streak continue? Unlikely.

Pitt comes into the game as heavy favorites despite the concerns about Akron's passing game. While the secondary and defensive line were both unimpressive last weekend, it's just too hard to pick against Pitt in a home game against a MAC squad. MAC teams have given the program fits before, but if Pitt takes care of business, they should come out on top.

Whether or not Pitt can live up to the fairly large spread is another thing. But we at least believe they'll win on Saturday.

Below are our official staff picks as well as the records to this point. Leave your thoughts and game predictions below.

Jim (4-0): Pitt

Anson (3-1): Pitt

Aron (3-1): Pitt

Chris (3-1): Pitt

Jim (3-1): Pitt

Stephen (3-1): Pitt
