Brianna Kiesel making early impact with Tulsa Shock

Charles LeClaire-USA TODAY Sports

Former Pitt star Brianna Kiesel was officially named to the Tulsa Shock's roster last week. The team's season began shortly after that and Kiesel is already making her presence known.

The rookie is averaging 5.0 points, 3.0 assists, and 2.5 rebounds per game in only 13 minutes of action through the team's first two games. Despite not starting or even among her teammates getting the most minutes, those three assists and her 1.5 steals per game lead the Shock. Kiesel has had four turnovers already, but overall, seems to be doing a nice job and contributing to the team as a second-round draft pick.

Tulsa is 1-1 through those first two contests. In the opener, Kiesel got her first two professional points on a couple of field goals in a loss to the Minnesota Lynx.

Kiesel should take the court again in the team's next game on Tuesday against the Seattle Storm.
