On Saturday, I reported that a trio of former Pitt players will be taking part in the 2015 edition of The Basketball Tournament, Gilbert Brown, Tyrell Biggs and Sam Young.
Well, according to a source, former Panthers star, Lamar Patterson will add his name to the pool of talent already competing in the tournament. Patterson is expected to join Biggs on the Reach 1 Teach 1 squad that features players like NFL pro bowler Devin McCourty as well as former West Virginia stars Truck Bryant and Kevin Jones. You can check out the team roster here.
The tournament bracket will be released within the next week or so and the team uniforms are being tweeted out on Twitter daily. There is a very real possibility that some of these former Panthers could play each other, while it is unlikely that Biggs and Patterson would play either Young or Brown. Each of their teams would have to make it to the national semifinals in order for that to happen.
As always, we will have more on Patterson's involvement with the team as the story unfolds.
