Pitt Football Recruiting: Panthers pursuing four-star linebacker Cameron Brown

An interesting tweet on Saturday afternoon shows that a top defensive recruit has his mind on Pitt.

Cameron Brown, a four-star linebacker according to Rivals, also ranks as the 11th best Maryland recruit and the 24th best outside linebacker in the country. This is one of the many reasons Brown holds the impressive offers that he does. In addition to Pitt, others include Penn State, USC, Virginia Tech, Notre Dame, Arizona State, Duke, North Carolina, Wisconsin, and many more. He has a top ten list but seems to have some favorites, including the Panthers.

ESPN and 247 both rank him with four-stars as well. ESPN puts him into their ESPN300 list as the #237 player overall. The linebacker is reportedly transferring from a private school this year to Paint Branch for the upcoming season as well.

Late in the afternoon yesterday/early evening, I was dodging raindrops unsuccessfully when an interesting re-tweet came through my timeline from Brown (which you can see below). The tweet showed emojis of a person bowing and eyes ... we'll leave the interpretation up to you. Here's a dictionary. Whatever it was, numerous fans followed by pleading with Brown to commit. Panther targets such as Damar Hamlin and Paris Ford either re-tweeted or favorited Brown's message.

FWIW, 247's Crystal Ball predictions has six early votes in and all favor Penn State. Will Pat Narduzzi and Rob Harley be able to close the deal? Only time will tell.
