Jamie Dixon has made more of an effort to make sure the Panthers will be competing for a spot in the NCAA tournament in the upcoming seasons. Dixon has been recruiting for the 2016 year after getting only one ESPN Top 100 recruit this year. Dixon has 5 ESPN Top 100 players considering Pitt, and already has a top power forward committed to Pitt.
This year brings Damon Wilson, a guard who will ultimately replace Cameron Wright, and center Rozelle Nix. Both of these players will be freshman. Rafael Maia, a spectacular rebounder, and Sterling Smith, a double digit scorer both come in from other schools. Both will be immediately eligible. Dizon and his staff are making more attempts to bring in transfer to help in all aspects.
Hopefully, this is a good sign moving forward for Pitt. The Panthers are looking like they will become the organization like they were back a few years if they continue to go out and bring in new guys to help the team. Dixon's activeness will hopefully bring Pitt back to the tournament this year or next year.
