Tonight, Pitt takes on Akron in the team's first road game of the season. With the loss to the Zips in 2014 coupled with the season-ending injury to star running back James Conner and a close win against FCS Youngstown State in the opener, you shouldn't be reminded that this could be a difficult test for the Panthers.
Pitt is at least boosted by the return of All-American candidate wide receiver Tyler Boyd and defensive linemen Rori Blair and Darryl Render. The Panthers also look to have a solid running game behind Conner with Qadree Ollison's big debut last week and primary backup Chris James, if healthy. True freshman four-star recruit Darrin Hall will also be in the mix. Still, with the trouble the team had at home against Youngstown State last Saturday, no opponent can be looked past.
Game time is at 6:00 p.m. and we'll be commenting right here throughout the game. Until then, leave your pregame thoughts below then stop back during the contest.
