We're at the point in the season where assessing Pitt's NCAA Tournament chances after every game isn't unreasonable. Tiresome? Well, that's another issue.
Like it or not, though, rampant speculation on the NCAA Tournament teams is just something that's out there this time of year. So where does Pitt stand after the recent loss to Louisville? Still in, it seems.
ESPN's Joe Lunardi did drop the Panthers from a No. 9 to a No. 10 seed after the loss, but still has them comfortably in at this point. USA Today also has the team as a somewhat safe No. 10 seed. CBS Sports' Jerry Palm remains perhaps the most optimistic about Pitt of the mainstream Bracketologists, slotting them as a No. 8 seed, even after the recent loss to Louisville. All three projections came out on Thursday.
Missing out on a Louisville win certainly cost the team a chance at some stability. The Panthers will get another shot at that by facing Duke this weekend.
