On Sunday, I wrote of the strong play of Pitt freshman Chinaza Ndee in the Panthers’ shutout win over Florida State. That performance, along with a solid game Friday against Miami, was enough to give her the ACC Freshman of the Week award.
Ndee led the team in blocks on Friday with six and added five kills before a great match Sunday against the Seminoles with nine kills and six more blocks. I thought her match Sunday, in particular, was one of the best she’s had in about a month.
Pitt has dominated the ACC Freshman of the Week award this season. This is the second time Ndee has won it and Kayla Lund, who probably has a shot at the ACC’s Rookie of the Year award, has won it three times.
