Three Pitt wrestlers remain in Top 20 rankings

The Pitt wrestling team suffered another ugly loss this past weekend against Virginia Tech. But the Panthers still have several individual wrestlers standing out in their weight classes.

In this week’s rankings, Dom Forys ranks as high as No. 10 (Flo Wrestling) at the 133-pound weight class. Heavyweight Ryan Solomon is as high as No. 12 (The Open Mat) and 141-pounder Nick Zanetta is #17 (Intermat/Flo Wrestling).

Here’s a recap of all of the rankings:

Two individual notes on the most recent rankings. First is that 157-pounder Taleb Rahmani, who had been ranked in the Top 20 by a couple of sites as recently as two weeks ago is now no longer in the polls. In addition, Zanetta’s appearance was nice to see in that he was beaten by an unranked wrestler last week.

Pitt hasn’t competed well from a team standpoint but it’s nice to see some individual guys still turning in nice seasons.
