No. 24 Pitt wrestling moves to 4-0 with 34-4 win over Bucknell

The Pitt wrestling team continued its roll with an impressive win over Bucknell on Sunday, 34-4. The victory moves the Panthers to 4-0 on the season.

It was the second dominant performance in as many days for the wrestling squad. For the second straight time, Pitt won nine out of ten matches with only Brendon Fenton losing his match at 125 pounds to start the dual. From there it was all Pitt.

No. 6 Micky Phillippi (133 pounds), No. 12. Nino Bonaccorsi (184 pounds), and No. 13 Demetrius Thomas (Heavyweight) all cruised to blowout victories, and Robert Lee pulled out a shocking pin at 149 pounds to lead the way. Several bouts were close and Taleb Rahmani (157 pounds) and L.J. Bentley (141 pounds) both needed overtime for sudden victory wins. But it was a very strong performance by the team.

Next up are road matches against Clarion and Oklahoma next weekend.
