Punter/Kicker Dan Hutchins was named to Phil Steele's Midseason All-American First Team. Save the kicker jokes - Hutchins has been one of the better players on the team this year and field position means quite a bit.

Hutchins wasn't the only one to get some credit from Steele.

Steele also named his All-Big East teams and several Pitt players were named. Lucas Nix, Jason Pinkston, Jabaal Sheard, and Hutchins were all named to the Big East's First Team. Jon Baldwin, Max Gruder, and Jarred Holley were Second Team members and Ray Graham, Cam Saddler, Chad Alecxih, and Dom DeCicco made the third team.

I was a little surprised to see no room for Brandon Lindsey and his five sacks, but I guess you can't find room for everyone.

One final note on the All-American list - Hutchins was the only Big East representative.
