Gary McGhee and Brad Wanamaker played in Friday's Reese's College All-Star Game in Houston as part of the Final Four festivities. Both played well in defeat as the East lost to the West, 113-108.
In only 20 minutes of action, Gary McGhee had ten points and 18 rebounds - tying for the game high with Morehead State's beast Kenneth Faried. McGhee had the only double double on his team and showcased exactly why he may have an outside shot at the NBA. Yes, it was an All-Star game where there are plenty of missed shots and yes, it was still against college players. But McGhee plays excellent defense and has an NBA body, even though he'd be a little shorter than the seven-footers patrolling the lane in the pros.
I've always been of the opinion that McGhee won't play in the NBA, but it might not be as far-fetched as it sounds.
Wanamaker also added 11 points, four rebounds, two assists, and a steal. I'm also not too high on Wanamaker's pro hopes, but you never know.
