Fans are understandably down on the basketball team this year, but according to the latest Bracketology projections, PItt is still an NCAA tournament team.
ESPN's Joe Lunardi currently has the Panthers in as a falling No. 10 seed. That surprisingly doesn't even put the Panthers on the bubble all that much and they're not one of his final four teams in.
It's way too early to put a lot of stock in this right now, but it is interesting that the view of the Panthers may not be as bad as it is here locally. On our site in the past week, everything from the NCAAs to another CBI bid has been mentioned. But at least according to ESPN (for now, anyway) the Panthers are a tournament team.
And for what it's worth, Lunardi's four No. 1 seeds are Louisville, Duke, Indiana, and Kansas. The Big East and the Big Ten lead the way with seven bids each.
