There wasn't any article on the B/G game and... more importantly... the interviews afterwards (you can get them on the official site) so... a number of items...
Looks like Rozzie Nix is headed for a RS. Dixon seemed to hedge in that direction when asked about it. Also, Mike Young said that they have 12 players that are ready for regular rotation time.... and the guess is the player that is not... is Nix. So, for Nix it's a 'maybe next year'.
Dixon said that the three best players in practice so far have been Young, Luther and Jeter... and that Jeter had 'separated himself from the rest including the other bigs'. This is interesting particularly in view that Dixon said that Jeter has been playing mostly PF lately, which is where they plan to play Young this year. As far as Young is concerned... based on Dixon's comments... we may be seeing him more at C this year than we were thinking... opening up starter minutes off the bench for Jeter at PF. Also... in the B/G game he was playing Jeter at PF and Artis at SF... and having them swap positions O and D... and hopefully we will be seeing more of this as we go along here. Artis was a killer at PF last year averaging over 20 PPG through the meat of the ACC schedule... and if we lose that we are losing a lot.
Dixon played Milligan at the SG position in the B/G game and... offensively... he looked pretty good. Can hit the 3ball, the mid-range shot, and take it to the hoop. Dixon stated multiple times that both Milligan and Wilson need to get better defensively... but I would not be surprised if Wilson was spelling Robinson and Milligan.... coming off the bench at SG. How much time they get depends on how well they defend.
Sterling Smith didn't do much in the B/G game but Dixon stated multiple times that he has looked really solid in practice and is more than just a 3ball shooter. Looks like he will start at SG though it is hard to say between him and Jones as Jones did not play in the B/G game (turned an ankle in practice) and Dixon did not talk about him.
Saw a picture of Cam Johnson in the photo gallery for the game on the official site... and he for sure is not the skinny kid he was last year. Put on like 30 pounds. Had a bad game shooting in the B/G game and Slim has still gotta earn his wings. Probably between him and Jones as to who spells Artis at SF.
Rafael Maia... was ok if not exceptional in the B/G game but... has had only 6 practices of the 16 they have had. ANO looked pretty solid so now is the front runner to start at C... but this one is 'still to be determined'.
Dixon has a LOT of players that can play so getting the PT for each player... is gonna be a challenge.
