There you have it, Jamal Davis emphatically commits to Pitt via his own twitter account. Ā DavisĀ was visiting Pitt this weekend and will leave Oakland as a future Panther. Davis is a 6-2 215 pound linebacker from Canton, Ohio. Davis picked Pitt over offers from Louisville, Minnesota, Indiana, and a number of MAC schools. Davis helped guide McKinley High School Ā to a 9-2 record, including three shutouts for the defense.
Davis comes in as a consensus three star by the main recruiting websites. Rivals lists him as the 44th best player in Ohio. ESPN names him the 79th best in the state and 122nd linebacker overall. Scout calls him the 100th best linebacker in the country. Ā So whatever site you depend on, Pitt is getting a three star linebacker all the way.
Davis is Pitt's 23rd commit for the 2014 recruiting class that will be wrapping up shortly. Davis is the fourth player from Ohio this season joiningĀ Adam Bertke,Ā Shane Roy, andĀ Phillipie Motley. He is also one of seven players to come from Big Ten states, proving that Chryst's staff still has ties to that region. Davis comes in as Pitt's third linebacker of the class joiningĀ James Folston Jr. andĀ Quintin Wirgins.
