CBSSportsline.com Blog Poll Week 6

More changes this week - a few notes:

- Oklahoma proved they're not as good as everyone thinks. While the main polls still have them ranked, at 2-2 having beaten nobody, I'll pass.

- I essentially have two groupings of undefeated teams. The first group has all beaten at least one quality team. I've placed these teams ahead of one-loss teams such as USC, OSU, VT, and PSU. After the quality one-loss teams, I have a second group of undefeated teams who are without a very strong win as of yet.

- No, I couldn' rank Pitt again. Too many teams have only one loss with better wins. Beating UCONN to get to 5-1 might be enough, though.

I dropped Oklahoma and all the other 2-loss teams from my ballot too, but their continuing presence in all the polls this week show that preseason prejudices still count for more than the actual game results. Which win won the Sooners a place in the top 25? Tulsa? Idaho State?

Couldn't agree more - the preseason polls are only for the fans, yet they have an undeniable influence on the bowl games and end of year polls.

If Oklahoma was named, say, Oklahoma State, they would not be ranked by anyone. They've lost both games of meaning and clearly don't deserve a spot in the polls with so many one-loss teams.
