With the NFL Draft approaching six of Pitt's football players will be preparing for it by participating in the NFL Combine.
Players invited to the combine were wide receiver Jon Baldwin, running back Dion Lewis, fullback Henry Hynoski, tackle Jason Pinkston, and defensive ends Jabaal Sheard and Greg Romeus. Hynoski is probably the only player who may not be drafted, but quality fullbacks are far and few between and he should at least get a look in someone's camp.
Before the season, there was widespread talk about Pitt potentially having five first-round picks. That almost assuredly won't be the case now, but most, if not all of the five other players, could be taken in the early rounds. An interesting fact is that all of Pitt's offensive players left college eligibility on the table, while the defensive players are all seniors.
The combine will start on Wednesday and run through March 1st in Indianapolis. More than 300 players are expected to take part in the event.
