Pitt Football: Zach Brown Could Transfer From Wisconsin

Well, we know Todd Graham loves him some transfers.

Pitt could be getting another one from a Big Ten school - and in time for the Fall, no less. Looks like Wisconsin running back, Zach Brown may be making to move to Oakland.

We all know Pitt is hurting for backs with only Ray Graham with any experience. And in a new offense where Pitt will hope to score in bunches with a high-energy approach, that doesn't bode particularly well.

So the news that Brown could be coming to Pitt is welcome news.

For starters, he's been at Pitt for the the past several days, visiting the school and checking things out. The reason for the transfer? He's apparently buried on the depth chart and looking for an opportunity to play. Brown has averaged nearly five yards per carry in three seasons at Wisconsin, but has seen his playing time shrink.

The good news is that he could be eligible to play immediately since he already earned an undergraduate degree. He could conceivably step right in and back up Graham.

Brown wasn't all that highly ranked coming out of high school, but was recruited by Pitt and some others such as Minnesota and Kansas State.
