Pitt takes on Duke tonight in a huge matchup, obviously. Sure, the Panthers could pull out a win, but that's not expected. The real reason I'm interested in this game is that it's a measuring stick of sorts for this team.
If Pitt keeps things close against Duke in a hostile environment for an ESPN Big Monday road game, it'd be hard not to like that and feel at least a little encouraged. It would also be in stark contrast to how the team played against Indiana earlier in the season on the road.
It seemed as if Pitt was getting a down Blue Devils team after they had back-to-back losses against North Carolina State and Miami. Duke rebounded in a big way, though, with a huge win on the road at Louisville - taking the contest by 11 points, no less.
I won't be around for the game tonight and will either be catching it on DVR or I'll give in afterwards and just check the score. But as always, we'll have this live gamethread up so that you can comment during the game.
