When I emailed the Cardiac Hill staff Sunday night asking for their picks, I really expected us to be either completely divided, or for everybody to go "safe" and pick North Carolina. To my surprise, all of them picked Pitt. I don't know what it is. Maybe Pat Narduzzi and this team really made some people believe with their last drive of the Syracuse game. This team is just so different than the past four or five Pitt teams that I really have no idea what to expect. Thursday night game on national TV as a ranked team in a pivotal conference match up.
This team has surprised and exceeded expectations all year, because it's safe to say nobody expected this up to this point. What does Pitt do when it has a chance to make a statement? That's the question that will be answered tonight. The one constant I've found with this team: they just keep winning. Every game it looks like it might be the one they slip up, but they make the plays they need to, and most of the time that's been on the road.
I normally at least write out a little sampling of what to expect, but I really don't know what we're going to see. The Tar Heels have a very good Marquise Williams, we have a very good Nathan Peterman. They have a very good Elijah Hood, we have a great one-two punch in Qadree Ollison and Chris James. They have a good pass defense, we have Tyler Boyd. They have a high powered offense, and we have a shutdown defense.
I just honestly have no idea what will happen in this game. The growing Pitt fan base will be watching. Recruits will be watching. A national audience will be watching. Vegas and others seem to think this game is a toss up but more seem to have UNC winning. People just seem to think UNC has the edge.
Screw it, I'm going with Narduzzi and the guys.
Going with the completely unrealistic, but lucky score of 27-10.
Get your butts down to Heinz. Let's Go Pitt.
Anson - Pitt (7-0)

Stephen - Pitt (7-0)
Chris - Pitt (6-1)
