Pitt's game against Notre Dame is already considered a big contest. But head football coach Pat Narduzzi announced on his weekly radio show that the Panthers will make it even bigger with the addition of several special guests.
All season long, the Panthers have had an honorary captain join the team for pregame activities each game and also make a short speech. This week, in addition to the captain, Pitt will have a host of special guests. Headlined by Dan Marino, who will reportedly serve as the honorary captain, the Panthers will also welcome a slew of Pitt legends, including Mike Ditka, Johnny Majors, Tony Dorsett, Bill Fralic, Jimbo Covert, and Jackie Sherrill.
This is cool news, obviously. It's not meant to draw a big crowd since that will already happen when they welcome Notre Dame into Heinz Field. But it will be great to see all of those guys there at once - something that doesn't happen too often.
