Only two days after defeating Eastern Washington on Friday night, the Panthers will have a quick turnaround in facing Morehead State Sunday afternoon.
The Panthers enter the contest at 7-1 with the only blemish being the loss to a ranked Purdue squad. Morehead State, meanwhile, is a respectable 5-2. The Eagles started the season 5-1 with their only loss at the time by a single point to Illinois State on a last-second shot. Morehead State, though, just faced Indiana and it didn't go all that well - the Eagles were pasted by 33.
Morehead State uses a balanced scoring attack and doesn't have a go to guy of sorts. The team's leading scorer is guard Corban Collins and he averages only 11.9 points per game. Eight players average at least five points per game and a total of 14 have scored buckets for the team this year. Offensively, they don't bring too much to the table, averaging only 69 points per game, which ranks 264th in the nation.
One thing the Eagles have done well is defend, giving up just under 60 points per contest. Still, I'm not sure how much room for concern there should be here. A pretty average Indiana team hung 92 on them and the Panthers rank 11th in the nation in scoring with 87 points a game.
Game time is at 4:00 p.m. and you can catch the game on ESPN3. Join us to comment live as the Panthers look for their eighth win of the year.
