Sophomore Safety Pat Amara Jr will transfer from Pitt

A contributor this year is leaving the program

Yesterday, we wrote about Jamal Davis II transferring as well as Chad Voytik contemplating transfer.

Today, sophomore safety Pat Amara Jr announced he would be transferring.

Some of you may remember when ESPN did a pretty fantastic article on Amara about his journey of getting to Pitt. He was homeless, and took a bus to a Pitt camp to earn a scholarship offer which he obviously did.

Amara played in every game except for two this season, totaling 14 tackles on the year along with one pass defended. He mostly played backup to true freshman Jordan Whitehead after having a fairly productive freshman season last year. Pat Narduzzi cited playing time as the likely primary reason Amara would be leaving.

Considering Jordan Whitehead was a Freshman All-American this year, you can understand Amara's predictment. Pitt needs young and quality depth, and Amara definitely fit that in my opinion. We wish Pat the very best wherever he decides to go.
