Going Scouting: Navy Midshipmen Edition

Pitt's opponent in the Military Bowl will provide Pitt with a special opportunity to scout them out while they play live before the bowl game and the Panthers rest.

Troy Taormina-USA TODAY Sports

Well, if you are all done with your excuses as to why you are not attending the Military Bowl this year, you can at least do some scouting before Pitt's trip to Annapolis, MD. That's because the Panthers' opponent in the game is Navy and the Midshipmen have a game still to play later on today before their contest against Pitt.

Navy will bring in the No. 21 ranking into their annual battle with their rival, the Army Black Knights. The Midshipmen stand at 9-2 this season and they have one last chance for quarterback Keenan Reynolds to show the Downtown Athletic Club that they are making a mistake by not inviting him to the Heisman presentation in New York. He will try and build on his tremendous year and take Navy to 10-2 heading into their game with Pitt.

You can check out all the action live as it happens today and the good news is that you don't need to travel to do it (see what I did there?). You can simply stay on your couch and turn on CBS at 3:00 p.m. this afternoon to watch Navy and Army go at it. The game will be played at the neutral site of Lincoln Financial Field in Philadelphia. The thing to watch for on Navy's end is, of course, the ground attack. The team averages 330 yards per game so get a look at another triple option and see the subtle differences between the Midshipmen and Georgia Tech, who Pitt faced earlier this season.
