Did anyone notice that two elite big men (which Pitt desperately is in need of) in the class of '19 named Pitt in their top 5? In the case of Akok Akok (Pitt, Syracuse, Georgetown, Providence, UConn), his offer from Pitt came late and he has yet to even visit campus. His HS Coach said he was surprised to see Pitt in his top 5 and that it's a testament to the impression Coach Capel made. Most experts have him leaning Syracuse, but if Capel can get an elite recruit like that to be as interested in Pitt as he is with a late offer and without even visiting campus, I'd have to believe the sky is the limit.
Qudus Wahab (Pitt, Syracuse, Geogetown, VT, UConn), is thought to be leaning towards Pitt. It's finally nice to be relevant in recruiting for once. These guys would be two very "good gets" for us. With that being said, becoming a good team in the ACC is going to be a process, but with these first steps the Capel regime has taken, I'd be lying if I said I wasn't very optimistic.
