College Basketball Rankings: Pitt Slides After Tennessee Loss

We all knew Pitt would fall once the rankings came out today, the only question was, how much?

Star-divide

Well, it could have been worse. I'm guessing Pitt coming back to make the score respectable was one reason the Panthers didn't tumble too far. Another reason is because Tennessee's looking like a pretty good team. They now own wins over Pit and Villanova and are still undefeated.

At any rate, Pitt fell to eighth in both polls this week - a drop of five spots.

Pitt will get another chance to move back up in the rankings this week, though. They only play one game this week when they face Maryland Eastern Shore on Saturday. But the teams in front of them don't have any extremely challenging games, either, so Pitt could end up in the same spot next week.

Panthers Fan Confidence Poll

Last tallied on 12/15.
