Hi, My Name Is...

Cardiac Hill is always the first website I check for Pitt news, and it is always one of my first stops every morning. I have been doing my own independent blog for over a year now that focuses on Pitt athletics, High School sports, and the Pirates. Anson recently took notice of my blog and asked me to come aboard for Cardiac Hill. I immediately took this opportunity that was presented, and I am honored to join a great site talking Pitt athletics.

Let me tell you a little about myself.

Star-divide

My name is Jim Hammett. I am a lifelong Panther fan that hails from Johnstown, PA. (A few big floods happened there, hence my name). I have a passion and interest in writing, and I am looking to continue that into a career down the line. I hope this opportunity with Cardiac Hill will help get my name out there, while being able to talk about something I love in the process. Pitt athletics have always been a huge part of my life as I have been to countless football and basketball games in Pittsburgh. I have taken a number of road trips for both teams (Sadly, I was at the Butler game of 2011).

My first memories of Pitt started like many of you - at an empty Pitt Stadium and a lifeless Fitzgerald Fieldhouse. The way Pitt athletics, and the entire university for that matter, has grown over the years is something of which I am extremely proud.

I am here to focus primarily on the state of Pitt recruiting in both basketball and football. My independent blog covers a lot of high school athletics, and that is what brought me here. I will not shy away from talking on other matters like the actual games, but many of my posts will be dealing with Panther recruiting. The lifeblood of any good college team is recruiting and it's an increasingly important part of blogs.

I would like to thank Anson for the opportunity to join such a well respected blog, and I hope you guys like what I have to say. And a quick, shameless plug... follow me on Twitter @FloodCPanther

As always, Hail to Pitt!

Be sure to join Cardiac Hill's Facebook page and follow us on Twitter @PittPantherBlog for our regular updates on Pitt football and basketball.
