Well, this definitely has some intrigue.

Former Pitt running back Dion Lewis was selected in the fifth round by the Philadelphia Eagles. This, of course, means Lewis will team up with fellow Panther, Lesean McCoy - assuming he's not dealt, of course. The last two great Panther running backs in recent memory on the same team? Wow.

I think the significance of this might be understated. Wtih all due respect to Curvin Richards, Ironhead Heyward, and Curtis Martin, Shady and Dion are the two best Pitt running backs since Tony Dorsett. Richards didn't put up nearly the numbers that McCoy and Lewis did and even in four years, Martin was still bested by both ... who, by the way, were only at Pitt for two seasons - half the time Martin was. Heyward rushed for slightly more (about 100 yards) than either Lewis or McCoy, but again, took four seasons to do it.

Now they're both on the same team? Awesome.

Rooting for the Eagles just got a whole lot easier ... at least for me.
