A little behind on this since it was announced on Monday, but Pitt continued to receive recognition for ACC Player of the Week honors.
The Panthers won on Homecoming against Virginia and had a few players draw notice for their efforts. True freshman safety Jordan Whitehead continues to impress and was named the ACC's Rookie of the Week. Whitehead had a game-high 12 tackles (seven solo) and actually leads the team with 41 on the year.
Linebacker Matt Galambos had a big game as well and was recognized as the linebacker of the week. He had two sacks and the big interception, which Chris named as this week's Turning Point of the Game.
Both Galambos and Whitehead were key players who helped the defense keep Virginia's offense to only 12 total points. Eight total players have now been honored by the conference through these weekly awards and Pitt has had at least one player recognized following every game so far.
