Another week brought, of course, more ACC football awards for Pitt players. Several Panthers were honored for weekly awards by the conference for their contributions to Pitt's 23-20 win over Syracuse on Saturday.
Tyler Boyd, who had a career-high 12 catches, was named the Receiver of the Week. He had 93 receiving yards and accounted for nearly 40% of the team's total yardage on offense with his running, throwing, and returns.
Running back Qadree Ollison was named Rookie of the Week. Ollison was our Panther of the Game after gaining 103 yards and two touchdowns. Just as important was the work he did on the team's final drive where he carried the ball repeatedly, helping Pitt march down the field for the game-winning field goal.
Linebacker Matt Galambos was named Linebacker of the Week. He had an interception in the game but his biggest play was arguably the reception on a fake punt, which extended Pitt's drive and put them into position for he game-winning field goal. Galambos also had five tackles, including three for losses.
