Pitt keeps winning and the Panthers continue to be recognized by the conference for big performances.
This week, safety Terrish Webb was the latest to be given a weekly ACC award as he was named the conference's Co-Defensive Back of the Week. He shared the award with Florida State's Trey Marshall.
Webb has been playing out of his mind lately and had another big game Saturday against Virginia Tech. In that contest, he recorded four tackles, defended two passes, and, of course, had the late interception to help the team put the finishing touches on a 17-13 victory.
The Pitt safety didn't only have a big game this weekend - he's had big games all year. In the past three games, in fact, Webb has caused a turnover. He's picked up interceptions in each of the last two contests and against Akron, had a forced fumble.
As I've pointed out before, it's really difficult to take him out of the starting lineup even as the starter, Reggie Mitchell, has returned. Pat Narduzzi actually addressed that in his weekly press conference and said he will continue to go with the hot hand. That should mean Webb has more opportunities to win the award again later this season.
