Pitt-Georgia Tech game schedule announced

Charles LeClaire-USA TODAY Sports

Pitt has a game to play this weekend against Virginia during Homecoming, but the schedule makers have given us the details for the team's next contest.

On the 17th, the Panthers will travel to Georgia Tech to face a reeling Yellow Jackets team that has dropped three straight. It was announced this week that the game will take place at 12:30 p.m. and be televised locally on WTAE/ABC.

For Pitt, I think this is another nice break given to the team. It's always difficult playing on the road and as I said when the Virginia Tech schedule was announced, avoiding a later kickoff (especially a night game) is always good to see.

The crowd in Blacksburg was taken out of things largely due to the weather, but I generally believe that the early kickoff times allow for less rowdy fans in general. They'll get into the game, of course, but it's better than facing a crowd that's had all day to drink and get amped up.

The only other game time currently known is the team's contest against North Carolina on a Thursday night in a couple of weeks on ESPN (October 29th at 7:00 p.m.).
