Going Scouting: Virginia Tech (Part 2)

Unlike most opponents this year, you will get your second chance to scout out Pitt's next matchup before the Panthers take them on.

Sandra Dukes-USA TODAY Sports

We told you last week how to check out Virginia Tech and new QB Brenden Motley, but since Pitt has a bye week today, you might as well get a second shot at seeing the Hokies before next week. Of course next week, the Panthers will travel to Blacksburg, VA to take on Virginia Tech at noon on Root Sports. Before that, though, the 2-1 Hokies will travel to Dowdy-Ficklen Stadium today in search of victory against the East Carolina Pirates.

After quarterback Michael Brewer went down against Ohio State, many wondered what would happen with the 1-1 Hokies. Brenden Motley and the rest of the team answered that question with a beat down of Big 10 opponent Purdue last week, 51-24. The game did have its moments when you knew Brewer was green and has a long way to go, but he also bounced back nicely and is a versatile QB. Pitt will have its hands full next week, so check out the Hokies today against the Pirates.

The game will kick off at 3:30 p.m., therefore, you won't have any excuses even if you're an anti-noon fan. You can check it out on either ESPN2 or on ABC.
