Dan Hutchins Semifinalist For Ray Guy Award = Awkward Timing

Pitt punter/kicker Dan Hutchins was named as a semfinalist for the Ray Guy Award. (Insert unoriginal joke about the award committee not watching the UConn game here).

Dan Hutchins has been pretty consistent this season, but had a horrible punting night against Connecticut on Thursday. Still, he's now one of ten semifinalists for the Ray Guy Award, given to the nation's best punter.

Hutchins ranks fourth in the country in punting entering this weekend averaging more than 47 yards per punt.

It's hard to bash Hutchins. He's not the greatest field goal kicker because his range is pretty limited. His field goal percentage has actually dropped this year as well. But overall he's been decent as both a kicker and a punter.
